New sculpture debuted at the 74 Market Street Gallery in Venice during a group show on Dec 16th during the Venice Arts Crawl. My section of the show was entitled “Building Material” – full documentation here. This piece is called “Suspended Rebar” – three 16x16x8in panels, made from linen, plaster, stucco pigment, rebar, drywall, wood and house paint.

In early November, in downtown LA, I had a live performance-piece at the Miah Studio. Full documentation here. This is a still from the performance. Covered from head-to-toe in white kaolin clay, I mixed plaster into buckets sitting on a zebra skin rug. A rope stretched 14′ from a box in the center of the rug to the I-beams in the ceiling. I attached the mixed plaster buckets to my harness, then climbed the rope. Working from the top down, I applied the plaster, ossifying the rope, turning it into a 14′ bone. The piece is now a permanent installation in the space.

This is a photo from a site-specific performance I did for a solo show a few weeks ago in Ontario, Canada. In this photo I am wearing an afghan, a harness and am painted in kaolin white clay. I am slowly ascending a 3-story barn via an industrial hoist. I’ve posted the whole show here at my blog. I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts. I’ll post another picture of the installation here as well.

Hi all- have just graduated only to find that nobody cares… shockeroo…. Nonetheless, here is a shot of my honors show, an enormous foam-board triumphal arch which I upholstered with a quilt whose panels track my daily life- pie charts of how I spend time in classes, maps of where I walk in one day, etc. My goal was to use up as many of my sewing and art supplies as I could before graduation.

The Arc is 9 feet tall by 8 feet wide by 4 feet deep. Some materials included: neck ties, glitter, old t-shirts, acrylics, watercolor, gouache, pencil, marker, yarn, thread, floss, beads, pom-poms, Elmer’s, plastic dinosaurs, condoms, tooth brushes, buttons, zippers, bows, christmas tree ornaments, felt, sequins, fabric paint, photographs, dried and pressed leaves, old receipts, textiles.

An example of some of the latest stuff I was doing in Boston before I left for France.  Hopefully I’ll have some bigger and better things to share soon!
